Poisonous frogs flood South Florida neighborhood

Thousands of poisonous frogs have started to appear in the city of Palm Beach Gardens north of Miami. They are being found in sidewalks, swimming pools, gardens, among many other places.

It is being reported that the frogs are poisonous bufo toads, which are also known as cane toads. They are not native of the United States and their presence is due to an accidental release of around 100 frogs from a pet dealer at the Miami airport a long time ago, 1955 to be exact.

They secrete a milky toxic substance from their heads. It irritates skin, burn eyes, and are dangerous to cat and dogs if they are ingested.
