A man was stabbed to death by a group of men while attending a birthday party in Las Vegas, police said.
Cops responding to a report of a man stabbed at The Grandview at Las Vegas early Sunday found a man in his 30s with multiple stab wounds in the timeshare resort’s ninth-floor hallway, police told the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The victim, who was not immediately identified, went with a woman to the resort in the 9900 block of Las Vegas Boulevard South to meet up with a group who was celebrating a birthday there, Las Vegas police Lt. Ray Spencer told reporters Sunday.
After the pair knocked on the door, a fight between the woman and another man inside the room broke out, police said.
“That female was punched in the face and knocked down,” Spencer said. “At that point a group of men and women came out from the room and chased the victim down the hallway where he was stabbed in the hallway and collapsed.”
A group of eight people – five men and three women – then fled the timeshare, KVVU reported.
Police were searching for those men and women Sunday as they interviewed the woman the victim was with to find out what sparked the deadly confrontation, the Review-Journal reported.
A message seeking comment from Las Vegas police was not immediately returned early Monday.
The identity of the victim, who was black, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office upon family notification, KVVU reported.
