Trump calls COVID-19 diagnosis a ‘blessing from God’ in new video message

WASHINGTON — President Trump released a four-minute video message on Wednesday afternoon updating the nation on his battle with the coronavirus, and calling his infection with COVID-19 “a blessing from God.”

The president praised a cocktail of therapeutics with his rapid recovery after a four-day stay in the hospital and vowed to make these drugs available for every American struggling with the deadly respiratory drug.

“Hi, perhaps you recognize me. It’s your favorite president,” Trump began the video, filmed outside the Oval Office where he returned to work earlier in the day.

The commander-in-chief said experimental therapeutics like Regeneron had saved his life after he was helicoptered to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Friday.

“It’s a cure. For me, I walked in, I didn’t feel so good, and 24 hours later, I was feeling great. I wanted to get out of hospital,” he said.
