A prison guard is accused of having sex in secret with a double murderer imprisoned at her facility convicted of killing his girlfriend and infant daughter.
Lauren McIntyre, 32, is accused of having a sexual relationship with convicted double murderer Andrew Roberts over a four-month period at HMP Isle of Wight, Metro reported.
Prison guard McIntyre — believed to be a mother-of-two— is accused of willfully and without reasonable excuse or justification misconducting herself in a way which amounted to an abuse of the public’s trust in the office holder because she had secret sex with murderer Roberts.
Roberts was convicted of strangling girlfriend Louise L’Homme, 23, and their eight-month-old daughter at the home they shared in 2003. He is serving a life term in prison.
The drug addict – then 22 – was sentenced to two life terms at Swansea Crown Court, where the judge accused him of carrying out the ‘depraved and brutal destruction of your own family’
According to The Daily Mail, McIntyre is also accused of “sanctioning” Roberts attacking another prison guard.
McIntyre allegedly gave Roberts the guard’s personal cell phone number and didn’t warn the guard that he might be in danger of an “impending” attack.
The prison guard also allegedly attempted to allow murderer Roberts to transfer money into her bank account in addition to having sex with him.
HMP Isle of Wight, where McIntyre was stationed, is a men’s prison with about 1,000 inmates.

A large majority of the inmates are also convicted sex offenders, according to the Mail.
In addition to having secret sex with the murderer, the prison guard also allegedly failed to report to anyone that she knew he was in possession of a cell phone.
In fact, McIntyre is not only accused of knowing Roberts had a phone — she also provided Roberts with her phone number, communicated with him, and sent him a picture of herself, officials said.
According to The Sun, McIntyre did not speak at her hearing other than to confirm her name and date of birth. The court granted her unconditional bail and set a hearing for sometime in October.
The alleged offences took place while the prison guard was working at HMP Isle of Wight in Albany, Newport – less than two miles from the courtroom she appeared in last week.
According to The Mirror, the alleged misconduct occurred between August and December of 2018.
It isn’t clear how investigators learned about the prison guard’s alleged secret sex relationship with the murderer, and it wasn’t immediately known if McIntyre had retained an attorney available for comment.
McIntyre’s next hearing will take place at Newport Crown Court.
Roberts remains incarcerated on a life sentence.
