A Lansing, Michigan woman has been charged with murder after authorities say she started a house fire that killed her boyfriend’s mother and his two young nephews.

The Lansing State Journal reports that Abbieana Williams, 21, is accused of killing Melissa Westen, 53, and Westen’s two grandchildren, 8-year-old Aston Griffin and 4-year-old Jesse Kline IV.

According to an arrest affidavit, Williams was allegedly angry at her boyfriend because she believed that he was cheating on her.

Minutes before police say the woman set fire to the home, she texted her boyfriend.

“I’m outside your mom’s house…I hope your mom likes being burned alive,” the text message read, according to the affidavit.

PEOPLE confirms that Williams is in custody after being arrested on September 16 and has been charged with three counts of murder and three charges of first-degree arson for the deadly house fire that killed her boyfriend’s family.

Williams told police that she did not start the blaze and was not on Elizabeth St. on the night of September 3, which was the night of the fire, Lansing Police Detective Teresa Mironiuk wrote in the affidavit.

However a friend told police that he dropped the woman off at the scene that night. While they were driving, the friend claims Williams was talking to someone and said, “I hope your mama likes burning alive.”

Just before he dropped her off on Elizabeth Street, Williams told him she was going to throw a rock through the window of the home, according to the affidavit. The friend drove away before the fire started.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by the Lansing State Journal, Williams was allegedly angry at her boyfriend because she believed that he was cheating on her.

According to local Fox News affiliate WJW Cleveland, a neighbor told police he allegedly saw a black female — later identified as Williams — pacing back and forth around the area.

At around 11:20 p.m., she allegedly asked the neighbor if she could borrow a cigarette lighter before walking toward the mother’s home shortly after.

The deadly house fire broke out less than four minutes later, resulting in the murder of her boyfriend’s family members.

Arson was originally ruled out as a cause for the blaze, but investigators say tips and further information led to Williams’ eventual charges.

The fire broke out at around 11:24 p.m.

The Lansing Fire Department was called at about 11:45 p.m. When they arrived, the home was engulfed in flames.

According to local NBC News affiliate WILX-10, records indicate that Williams’ boyfriend was seen with the neighbor’s borrowed lighter afterward.

Williams’ mother, Drique Blackmon, told Michigan Live that she believes her daughter is innocent. She added that Williams has autism and “some emotional impairment disorders” but is not violent, and that a lie detector test would prove it.

Williams is scheduled to next appear in court on October 1 for a preliminary exam, authorities said.

The Lansing woman charged with setting her boyfriend’s mother’s house on fire–while she was inside with her grandchildren– will make a court appearance Thursday.
